El Nido is a learning organization committed to Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusivity (JEDI) and adaptive to the evolving needs of the communities we serve.
JEDI Mission Statement:
El Nido Family Centers recognizes the systemic, societal, and structural challenges that create inequities for individuals, children, and families in the marginalized communities we serve. To that end, the goal of this group will be to create a culture where justice equity diversity and inclusivity are integral to the agency and its daily work by:
including the diverse voices of the community on our board, staff, and within our services.
creating a workplace where everyone is accepted and valued as an individual.
offering healing experiences to clients, the community, staff and board by modeling, informing, and educating about JEDI principles.
actively addressing racism when found to foster its elimination in our community.
recognizing and being sensitive to how our internal policies can create inequities.
working to effect change within systems that create inequity and helping our clients to be empowered to navigate within these systems.
recognizing our inherent biases and how they affect our work. Challenge ourselves to be open and accepting of others’ differences.
