Since 1925, El Nido Family Centers has been creating pathways to long-term well-being for young people and families across Los Angeles.
What We Do
Our Story
Founded in 1925 by the National Council of Jewish Women, El Nido began as a refuge for undernourished girls, as a camp in Laurel Canyon, and has since evolved into a comprehensive social services organization.
Today, we serve over 11,000 individuals annually across six sites in Los Angeles, offering more than a dozen programs that address the multifaceted and evolving needs of our communities. Our core service areas are the San Fernando Valley and South LA, though our reach extends beyond.
Our services encompass mental health counseling, violence prevention, early childhood education, life and workforce readiness, youth development, and more—each designed to support the entire family at every stage of life.
We organize what we do into three pillars, all of which aim to not just stabilize families, but build long-term resilience.
