Hugo’s Restaurants Match Customer Donations for
El Nido Family Centers to Help End Child Abuse
Hugo’s Restaurants, the home of the Power Breakfast and a mainstay on the Southern California “Stealthy Healthy” food scene, once again “gave back.”
In keeping with the restaurant’s concept of community building, Hugo’s partnered with El Nido Family Centers by encouraging diners to make any size donation and generously matched those donations dollar for dollar giving a total of $1,200.
“Having Hugo's support at this time of great need in our community is a true gift. Our deepest gratitude to Hugo’s and their generous patrons for helping the youth El Nido serves. The donations received will go to providing counseling for children who have been abused and/or neglected,” states El Nido Executive Director, Liz Herrera.
El Nido’s vision is a world freed from the intergenerational cycles of poverty, teen pregnancy, child abuse and juvenile delinquency. Since 1925, they have served families at public schools, client’s homes and El Nido centers throughout Los Angeles County.
“El Nido has been doing great work for almost 90 years, helping young people at risk, educating them and turning around their lives. We were so blown away by their good work that we wanted to get involved with them. At Hugo’s, we too, believe in working through personal transformation via our menu philosophy and our Gift of Service. We are trying to change the world one guest at a time and working with El Nido, which changes generations, is just a natural fit,” says Tom Kaplan, co-owner of Hugo's Restaurants and Hugo's Tacos.
